Veteran Perspective

US Army nurse Wanona "Winnie" Fritz earned her pilot’s wings and the Bronze Star for meritorious service during evacuation and MEDCAP missions in Vietnam. Winnie shares her story of service and 10 lessons and 6 gifts she gained throughout her amazing career in U.S. and international healthcare in 22 countries.

Student Perspective

Harrison Kessel served as vice-president of his chapter, lead editor for Since You Asked, Edition I, and interviewed seven veterans whose combined service spanned from WWII to the Gulf War. His message highlights the lesson of perseverance learned from his veterans and the impact to his future.

Teacher Perspective

Nicole Blanchard has supported VHP students in preserving nearly 100 veteran histories since 2014. Her message shares the development of character and patriotic pride witnessed in her students, as well as the personal impact she has experienced both as a parent of three VHP students and the wife of a veteran.
