"Alina has been dedicated to VHP as both an officer for the last two years as well as a member for four years. She stays in touch with her veterans and has even met them for lunch and calls to make sure they are well. Alina is passionate about VHP and communicates with me frequently to check if anything needs to be done. Even though she has written three essays herself, she has spent much time editing and making sure members feel supported and has attended interviews with new members for support. Alina has been vital in planning our Veterans Assembly each year as well as our book signing event. " - Nicole Blanchard

"Lauren is the President of our school’s VHP Chapter. Lauren has already written and published two stories, and has seen first-hand how involvement in the club benefits both students and veterans. Lauren continues to lead by example, helping her peers do the same. During her term as the State President for the Children of the American Revolution she personally raised $21,000 to send veterans on an “Honor Flight” to Washington D.C. to see their memorials. Lauren also had the extraordinary opportunity to fly along as a guardian on an Honor Flight last year, an experience she said she will never forget." - Tracey Heisler

"Carla balances her club responsibilities as Chapter President, with her involvement in National Honor Society, Society of Women Scholars, Key Club, Link Crew, and Mu Alpha Theta. Despite her busy schedule, Carla manages to devote not only her time, but her full effort in recruiting new members to the club, conducting interviews, writing and editing stories, and getting the book ready for publication. Carla is truly in her element when she is in the presence of veterans. I witnessed this during the 2019 Veteran’s Day Parade when she was passing out handwritten thank you letters to veterans in the crowd and American flags to spectators." - Gabriella Brown
